The Lake Garden in Kuala Lumpur

Perfect for nature lovers, you can find almost everything you might be looking for at Lake Gardens in Kuala Lumpur. Also known as Taman Tasik Perdana, the Lake Gardens are the first public park in the city providing some much-needed recreational space away from the busy city life.

If you need an affordable accommodation near the Lake Gardens, visit Cheap Hotels, one of the leading hotel reservations sites.

Walking through the gardens is a pleasure and there are jogging tracks for those of you who feel like stepping up the pace and also areas for working out. And of course we mustn't forget the children who need to let off steam too! There are a number of excellent children's playgrounds dotted around the gardens. If you are looking for a little more then there are also a number of different activities available including:

* A deer park which has beautiful Dutch spotted deer which can be fed with food that    you can buy at the ticket office.

* An orchid garden where you can enjoy and photograph approximately 800 stunning

species of this very special flower. You can even buy one to take home with you if

   you want to.

* A bird park which has more than 3000 different species of our feathered friends for

   you to try to spot.

* A butterfly park which is a dream come true for butterfly lovers.

* The hibiscus gardens where you can see the national flower known by the locals as

"Bunga Raya" in all its glory.

* A boating house where you can hire a boat and go boating on the lake for an hour

which is very peaceful and relaxing. The boating house is also the place to go if you

are hungry or thirsty. They have a good selection from hot food to ice-cream and the

   prices are reasonable.

Another point of interest in the Lake Gardens is the Carcosa Seri Negara which used to be the official residence of the British Government. Now it is Malaysia's most exclusive and expensive hotel. If you can't afford to stay there it is worth a visit and maybe you will be able to stretch to enjoying one of their famous High Teas which includes all the favorites: scones, clotted, cream, jam and a lovely pot of English tea
